Testing of 48v 500w kit-Version 1

I would like to begin testing of the original version of this kit with the freewheel and no EABS. My bike has almost 1400 miles on it so these aren't out of the box numbers on a brand new motor. I will do maybe ten rides and give an average.
My bike is a full supension mountain bike with 26 inch wheels. I'm running Kenda Kross tires inflated to 50 lbs. These test will be conducted with light pedaling only when needed. The battery I will use for this test is a Ping 10Amp hour. I hope to give real world numbers about this kit.
The route is 9.5 miles of hills some of them reaching 20% elevation. Here is a link to view this routehttp://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/ga/ringgold/925125307049785794
Following this route twice should bring me close to my maximum range. Initially I plan on charging between each lap and calculating the results. Then a few maximum range tests to get those numbers.

The advantage of freewheel is bike could still go for a while without resistance when throttle is released, this could save battery energy to some extent; while with no freewheel the bike could charge the battery but couldnot count on this, the biggest advantage is the brake will become more comfortable. You will see this soon. ;-)

I'm very excited about the new upgrades. By following the same route and watching my driving habits I realize what an advantage the EABS could be. Some of my ride is very steep downhill. Very scary!! :o
My hope is that by seeing how this kit performs under regular everyday driving conditions and recording it here it will help others decide if an electric bike is right for them. These are the numbers for an average ride.

Amps minimum : -7.68

Amps maximum: 33.86

Maximum speed: 34.1

Average speed: 21.2

Time: 25 minutes 50 seconds

this 2 data should becomes bigger when motor is not freewheel any more, it will be interested to make a comparision with your cycle analyst.

You can't talk about the performance of this bike without mentioning the three speeds. I use them exactly like the gears of a bike. Downshifting on hills will almost always keep this bike rolling. Also range can be extended by utilizing these "gears". So I thought I would give some results of the testing I've been doing.

Low gear
Max speed: 13.4 mph
Average speed: 8.5 mph
Range: 27 miles *
*this was tested with the limiter on which has the same top speed

Medium gear
Max. speed: 19.8 mph
Average speed: 17.4 mph
Range: 24 miles

High gear
Max. speed: 24.9 mph
Average speed: 21.5
Range: 20 miles

All of these totals were done with little or no peddling at all. Obviously peddling will add to these numbers noticably. Someday I would like to test the effects of different levels of peddling. These totals were reached using less than 10 amp hours. Basically 9 amp hours per test or twice around the above mentioned course until 9 amp hours is reached.

Actually did a ride this weekend peddling as much as I could. 15 miles for 5 amp hours. So doing the math that's 30 miles for a 10 amp hour battery. Wow...
